Our Horses

Alex

I am “Alexander the Great” 16:1hh and a classy dark chestnut thoroughbred. I am semi-retired now but I like to help out a camps and Birthday Parties.  I especially like to be part of the dress up portion of the camps.

Barney

Hi, I am a Hafflinger gelding. I love to go cross country and jumping is my sport.

Clarence

I am a very gentle 11hh pony.  I really like the Pony Pals program.  I help lots of children to learn about grooming and riding horses.

Jack

I am a flashy black and white Hackney/Clyde cross gelding. Hacking out in the woods and going for rides across the fields are my favourites,  I can jump a small course, do basic dressage and even perform in a quadrille.  My gentle nature makes me very popular in the barn.

Jesse

Hi, I am a Norwegian Fjord horse. Some people call us ponies because we are short, but when they have ridden us, they know that Fjords are really horses. I am very quiet but I can really move when someone wants me to.  I love to jump, especially cross country. I teach my students to vault (gymnastics on horseback), basic dressage, jumping and quadrilles. I won the first show I went to. I love people and people love me.

Jorde

Hi, I am a Norwegian Fjord. I love to jump, go cross country, do basic dressage and take people for quiet rides in the woods. I hope you like me because I like people very much.

Marigold

Hi, I am a Hafflinger/Welsh Cross pony mare. I like to teach my students to ride. I can jump, do quadrilles, lunge, hack across the field, and show at the beginner and novice levels. I am really a determined pony. When I was learning how to play horse soccer I was afraid to kick the ball with my legs so I pushed it with my nose so that I could score a goal. Even if I am a pony height I am very strong so I teach adults as well as children.

Precious

Hi, I am a Quarter Horse. I live up to my name. I like to teach people to ride. I can jump, play soccer, do basic dressage and best of all protect my precious riders while they learn. I have an amazing amount of patience.

Rosco

My name is Rosco. I am a palomino quarter horse born in 2002. I am really friendly and gentle. I have tried Eventing and enjoy the challenge of higher jumps.  I have a great trot and a very smooth canter to help my riders improve.

Sonora

Hi, I am a Percheron mare. I am very big but not very tall. I love to jump, do quadrilles, basic dressage, hack and anything cross country. I like to give my riders confidence over the cross country jumping courses. I really enjoy showing.

Marshmallow

Hi, I am Marshmallow kitty. I was a wild kitty until I came to Thistledown, now I am the number one cuddle kitty. I will greet you when you come to the barn and encourage you to pick me up and cuddle me. Yes, there are other kitties in the barn that like to be picked up and cuddled but I am the best.
